yes well i have lived in lewes for 86 years now and have lots of memories
one is of playing in landport woods as a youngster,camping with mates, lighting fires and roasting potatoes (or should i say burning,we had an old u.s.a army bivawac tent with pine branches as bedding.we used to cut down big trees with my fathers 6 foot cross cut saw and an enormuos axe,just to say TIMBER.!
scrumping apples and getting coaght! plus all sorts of other mishaps!!!
making our own canues made from pitch pine and adding a sail to sail down the ouse.had some near miss from drowning.
