Interpretation Panels project

Stuart Billington

There is at present only limited information readily accessible to the local community and the visitor about the history and heritage of St John sub Castro Church (now part of Trinity Church in Lewes).
To address this we have commissioned three Interpretation Panels as part of the Heritage Lottery funded Repair Project.
The three Panels are currently in the research and design stage, and will cover the following topics:

BEFORE THE CHURCH

THE FIRST CHURCH

THE PRESENT CHURCH

The first two panels will be located in the churchyard, and the third will be in the front garden of the Church.
In addition to the three panels, it is planned to write a new guidebook for the church, produce leaflets about specific topics such as the stained glass and notable memorials in the churchyard, and develop the use of QR codes and Smartphone apps to improve the amount of information available about the history and the heritage of St John’s Church.

Watch this space! (but don’t hold your breath . . . )
