Use of Church Hall by Pells Primary School, July 1970

Stuart Billington

The Rector told the meeting that the Education Authority was willing to carry out further improvements to the Church Hall kitchen totalling £600 (about £9,500 today), if the Hall committee would contribute £100 of this.
This was thought to be a good arrangement, and thanks were due to those who had worked hard on modernising the kitchen.

(Extract from PCC Meeting, 7th July 1970)

In those days, when the Pells Primary School was on the corner of Talbot and Pelham Terraces, the Church Hall was used by them for school dinners. The premises is now occupied by Lewes New School.
