1 The Avenue, November 1968

The Rector reported that the Church Commissioners had approved transfer of 1, The Avenue as St John’s parsonage house.
The Dilapidations Board had decided to double glaze a large window, put in an oil-fired boiler with special hot air outlet in the hall, and a radiator in the morning room. All at no cost to the Parish.
Three offers for 1, St John’s Hill had been received including one for £6,000 in cash.
The Rector said he thought he would be moving into 1, The Avenue in a fortnight’s time.
