The Rector reported that they were faced with the cleaning and overhaul of the organ.
This matter was under discussion a year ago, when it was considered possible to postpone it for another year, but the time has now come when the job must be tackled or it would mean still more expense.
He thought it would be a good thing if a small sub-committee could be formed to take this matter in hand and to raise the necessary funds.
The organ was erected in 1927, and at that time they were advised that it would need to be overhauled and thoroughly cleaned after about 12 years.
That work was overdue.
Last year they had a report from the organ tuners who estimated that the work of overhauling and cleaning would cost £65 (about £3,900 today).
