St John's Bookstall, March 1971

Stuart Billington

It was suggested that the bookstall could be improved by borrowing rather than buying the books. It could be helped by people lending their own books. Some already had this in hand and had agreed to personally canvas for books.
A table display was needed, and a box for the books when not on show. People to be asked for books and this would bring them into circulation.

(Extract from PCC Meeting, 30th March 1971)

By 4th May, this proposal had been implemented.
