Christian Stewardship, April 1972

Stuart Billington

Half way through our third full year of Christian Stewardship we are again able to report continued support and several new members.
Your achievement in maintaining Stewardship income at the original level is one that we understand to be quite exceptional – though it has been mentioned that a small annual increase would enable us to keep pace with increasing demands.
There has once again been a substantial recovery from the Department of the Inland Revenue of tax paid against covenanted gifts. This is by no means all from annual or monthly pledges but includes several members who have pledged a regular weekly amount.
Service, such as transport to church on Sundays, have continued to operate and assistance has been given in completing the new Electoral Roll.
Members will like to know that their support has contributed very largely to the Parish’s ability to give greater and more extensive assistance to many highly deserving organisations, and also to assure our position with another substantial addition to the Parish Reserve account.
