Mr Moorey said that we needed to bring new people into the Church. Mr Graham stressed the point that Christian Stewardship would give us an assured income and we could plan ahead what we can do with it.
Mr Poynder enquired about case histories of other churches that had undertaken Christian Stewardship schemes.
The Rector replied that where it had been really carefully thought out the results had been surprising.
He was not primarily concerned with the financial aspect, but with the idea of using people’s time and talents.
Mrs Small felt that Christian Stewardship should be linked with the Parish Project idea.
It was suggested that there should be a basic ‘Time and Talents’ proforma – jobs that can be done in the Parish by people interested in joining Christian Stewardship, together with providing a regular income.
