Sound amplification, Dec 1970

Stuart Billington

A microphone and a loud speaker had been installed as an experiment, and some of the congregation had been asked whether there had been an improvement. Seven were in favour and four were against.
It was suggested that it was not a fair test, as one person was improved and one wasn’t, and that the youth were the hardest to hear. It was agreed that a manufacturer should be approached with a view to installing amplification.
It was further suggested that the Parish as a whole should debate the matter possibly at the AGM, and in time a statement could go in the magazine.
