Rector's Report, April 1969

Stuart Billington

During the last year the parish has continued to make steady progress. Our number of communicants have again risen but any rapid growth that we have seen in the past three years has of course now settled down.
I should like to thank those people in the parish who have worked so hard in a variety of ways during the year, from delivering magazines, to keeping the Church clean, to running the church organisations, to the carrying out of various events which have happened in the parish – the fete, St Nicholas Fair, Wine and Cheese etc.

With regards to the Church services, the biggest change has been the introduction of Series II at the Communion service.
Although people felt it all a little strange at the beginning, it seems that the majority of people were now “at home” with this service, and appreciated the new form as against the old.
