Mr Moorey said that the Gift Day had finally brought in £538 (about £9,000 today), and he was more than pleased with the result. Altogether we had £2,200 (£36,000) ready to pay for the heating.
The job was almost finished but could not be tested properly before Wicks completed the building of the boiler house.
The Rector said that we should have to arrange a supply of oil for the heating, and that Corrals offered a contract for the regular supply which would be cheaper than a supply from Shell.
