The condition of the Church building: December 1901

It would be well for us, as a congregation, to set our minds on some special work for this year in connection with our church; and we are sure that all our readers will agree that the gutters on the roof should be attended to, and that something ought to be done to the inside of the walls and the ceiling.
They are really in a disgraceful condition, and if the Parishioners and Congregation will help the Churchwardens (who are quite conscious of the state of thing ), a very different aspect may be put upon the whole internal structure before many months have passed.
Although the gutters have been temporarily patched, to prevent present leakage, it is acknowledged by all experts that the time has come when patching will no longer be of any avail.
It was not very many years ago that the present chancel was added, at a cost which at first alarmed us; to remove it from the body of the Church the present stains of time and weather, and perhaps to do a little more, would be comparatively an easy matter.
It is only necessary that one and all should set their minds upon the work being done.
