Church Repairs: July 1904

The Architect’s bill has been paid, and we are now getting to work upon the large window over the centre door. The design of the tracery is very effective, although simple, and we venture to think that it will be a striking improvement upon the hideous window which it is to replace.

The stonework of the old window is in a most decayed condition and very little of it can be used again.

The cost of the work with the glazing will be about £35 or £40, and we suppose that the two windows over the side doors will cost together about £50 more. The restoration of these three windows we should try to carry out this year.

We have £20 in hand to start with, and, if the claims of our own Parish Church are given their proper place in our hearts, the requisite funds will be forthcoming.”
