Women's Fellowship, April 1972

Stuart Billington

The past year has again proved a very satisfactory in every way. Membership now stands at 43 and all meetings have been well attended, the average being 35.
Members and their friends enjoyed an afternoon visit to Burrswood Healing Centre and an all day coach trip to Southampton and Bucklers Hard.
Many varied and interesting speakers were welcomed, some with slides and others to talk on different subjects. The Tuesday afternoon Communion Service continues to be well attended and appreciated.
Our annual Bring and Buy Sale in October, in aid of our adopted Leper Boy realised the wonderful sum of £26.32 (about £400 today).
At our meeting in December, 662 packets of sweets and chocolate given by members and their friends were handed to Father Richardson as our Christmas gift to the children of Chailey Heritage.
We thank all members who gave their time in helping to keep our church clean by sweeping, dusting, and brass cleaning, a big thank you to all.
We have given new hangings, new carpet, and carpeted the kneelers to the Lady Chapel.
Our working party is fairly well attended but we would appreciate more members and their friends coming to these parties to make things for us to sell at St Nicholas Fair in December at the Town Hall.
