Women's Fellowship, April 1970

Stuart Billington

Another successful year has passed, several new members have joined us and our membership now numbers 43. A most varied program has been much enjoyed and meetings have been very well attended. The Celebration of Holy Communion on the afternoon of the second Tuesday in each month is greatly appreciated.
In June we held a Coffee Morning, raising the sum of £13 (about £200 today) in aid of “Shelter Campaign”.
We have now adopted another Leper Boy, and our Bring and Buy Sale in November realised £20 (about £300 today), which helps to maintain him in Hospital, and also augments our own Funds.
At the December meeting, members contributed 550 packets of chocolates and sweets which were sent to Chailey Heritage for distribution to the children on Christmas morning.
Excellent work has been done by the working party throughout the year and we shall soon be resuming our efforts in preparation for the next St Nicolas Fair.
Grateful thanks are due to all members who continue to clean our Church each week.
