Parish Project, Jan 1969

Stuart Billington

It was reported that as a result of the form sent out with the Parish News three people had requested help and no offer of help had been received. Deep disappointment was expressed over this.
Discussion took place and it was brought out that number of people in the Parish were already committed to work of the nature suggested by the Parish Project and felt unable to take on any more.
Mrs Mascall suggested that more should be made known about the things that are already being done by individuals in the Parish, and offered hospitality for any parish meetings.

Mrs Brown asked if the Project could be mentioned from the pulpit, as she thought that the younger people did not read the magazine.

It was thought that the Project might form part of a larger scheme being considered by the Lewes Council of Churches and Mrs Small asked if we would be willing to join.

It was agreed that the discussion had been helpful.

The matter would be brought up again at the next PCC meeting.
