Parish News, April 1968

Stuart Billington

The Parish News has shown another year of steady progress, which included an increase in the page size , improvements to the format, and a number of new features.
This enlarged version has proved to be popular and is in demand even outside the Parish.
However it must be pointed out that this “improved magazine” costs considerably more to produce and although the Treasurer reports a reasonably sound financial position, we shall not be able to maintain it at its increased size of fourteen pages without greater sales.
Many people DO pay for their magazine and these subscriptions are gratefully acknowledged, but if we are to maintain the ‘Parish News’ at its present size or to effect further improvements more subscriptions are needed.
FourpenceĀ (about 28p today) is not an unreasonable amount to ask for a copy, and if more people could find it in their power to contribute fourpence a month for their copy, the magazine would be able to continue the good work it has done in the last year.
