Rev. Langhorne under pressure 1940

Stuart Billington

The Rector said he would like to thank very heartily all the church workers for their services in various capacities during the year.
Nobody appreciated these voluntary services more than he did for he realised that but for their help he would be unable to carry on the work in that large parish.
It had a population now of nearly 4,000 which was really too big a parish to tackle single-handed, and but for the ready help he received his task would be an impossible one.
