Medieval Font from the old church

Stuart Billington

The medieval font from the old church was brought into the present church when it was built in 1840.
At that time we believe it was sited in the main porch, because there is a plinth apparently built specifically for it in the far left corner as you enter the porch.
We believe it was then moved in 1883 to the back of the Nave, which is where it was when this photo was taken.
During recent alterations to the interior, it was moved back to its original position in the front porch.
